1. Definition of PP Filler Masterbatch
PP filler masterbatch is white granular material specially formulated for the modification and processing of polypropylene (PP) raw materials. It is produced by high-temperature compounding, extrusion and granulation, using PP resin as the carrier, combined with activated inorganic powders such as calcium carbonate and talc powder, as well as dispersants, coupling agents, lubricants and stabilizers. It is one of the most commonly used cost-reducing and modifying raw materials in plastic processing industries.
2. Main Components
(1) PP Resin Carrier: Accounting for 15%-25% of the total composition. It features excellent compatibility with virgin PP raw materials, avoiding delamination and precipitation during mixing.
(2)Inorganic Filler (Main Component: 70%-88%): Activated ground calcium carbonate is the mainstream filler for general grades. High-end grades adopt talc powder, barium sulfate and wollastonite. The surface-modified powder effectively prevents agglomeration and white spot defects.
(3)Auxiliaries (1%-5%): Optimize the bonding interface between inorganic powder and resin matrix, and improve material fluidity, aging resistance and screen blocking resistance during processing.

4. Basic Physical Parameters
Appearance: White cylindrical particles; Density: 1.7~1.9g/cm³; Moisture Content: ≤0.3%; Applicable Processing Temperature: 180-260℃; Conventional Addition Ratio: 10%-40%; Maximum Addition Ratio for high-filling grades: 50%.
II. High-rigidity Talc Filler Masterbatch
1. Calcium carbonate universal filling masterbatch has the highest cost-effectiveness and strong universality, suitable for popular products such as woven bags, non-woven fabrics, ordinary injection molding, plastic sheets, etc.
2. Talc powder filled masterbatch with high rigidity has better heat resistance and surface gloss, enhancing product stiffness. It is commonly used for home appliance casings, automotive PP parts, and high-precision injection molded parts.
3. Barium sulfate high gloss filled masterbatch products have high surface glossiness and specific gravity, suitable for high-end boards, reflective substrates, and high-end plastic shells.
4. High fluidity drawing masterbatch with low precipitation and uniform dispersion, suitable for extrusion drawing processes such as geotextile, mask non-woven fabric, plastic flat wire, fishing net wire, etc.
5. Food grade filling masterbatch is made of food activated calcium carbonate, which meets heavy metal standards and is used for disposable lunch boxes and food packaging containers.
III. Main Application Fields
1. Extrusion & Drawing Products
Plastic woven bags, bulk bags, plastic flat yarns, non-woven fabrics, geotextiles, sewing threads and fishing net threads. It reduces raw material costs, improves yarn stiffness and minimizes yarn breakage during production.
2. Injection-molded Products
Plastic turnover boxes, plastic tables and chairs, PP home appliance casings, automotive interior parts, plastic toolboxes, toys and plastic storage boxes. It eliminates shrinkage dents, improves product hardness and lowers production costs.
3. Sheets, Thermoformed Products & Extruded Plates
PP thermoformed lunch boxes, plastic base plates, construction PP plates and rigid packaging sheets. It enhances plate stiffness, reduces thermal deformation and achieves cost reduction.
4. Film Products
PP non-woven films, thin packaging films and plastic mulch films. It reduces tensile shrinkage and improves the stiffness of film products.
5. Daily-use & Modified Plastics
Plastic flower pots, plastic pipe fittings, modified PP particles and plastic stationery. It balances production cost with product rigidity and wear resistance.
IV. Usage Precautions
1. Adjust the addition ratio according to product requirements: 10%-20% for soft products, and 30%-40% for rigid injection-molded products and plates.
2. Keep the masterbatch dry before use; excessive moisture will cause bubbles and water ripple defects on finished products.
3. A small amount of toughening additives is recommended for high-filling formulations to avoid reduced toughness and brittle cracking of products.
